While working on security systems at BioAXS we keep all of these factors in mind….

§          Risk                     -----   A risk is a possible event which could cause a loss

§          Threat                 -----   A threat is a method of triggering a risk event

                                              that is dangerous

§          Countermeasure -----   A countermeasure is a way to stop a threat from

                                              triggering a risk event

§          Defense in depth -----   Never rely on one single security measure alone

§          Assurance            -----   The level of guarantee that a security system

                                              will behave as expected

In a Broader vision, security is not just protecting ourselves but protecting others too, also the ones who will attack in return to some of our preemptive measures…

If in our world, we can make efforts to really understand what are the risks/threats/assurances triggering attackers to attack we can surely work on reducing these factors, increasing inner security of attackers to make them realize consequences of their attacks before they attack.
